Jakarta World Academy and Sinarmas World Academy held its very first Early Years Mind Matrix Challenge and Family Carnival last Friday, 28 April 2017. It aimed to encourage a healthy competition and showcase of learning. There were also various exciting activities prepared that day for all JWA and SWA students. It was a wonderful day, and the Jakarta World Academy students were excited as they rode the bus going to Sinarmas World Academy.
The Nursery students built their own Early Years version of Rube Goldberg Machine. The students have had an enjoyable experience creating their own marble and ball runs using recyclable materials. The students creatively constructed small structures to work like car ramps with the help from their teachers and parents. They all got engrossed in trying and testing the structures that they built. The students also had a picnic and outdoor play at Sinarmas World Academy Adventure Playground.
The Pre-K and Kindergarten 1 students took part in “Colouring and Drawing Competition” in Wayang Buidling Piazza. They showed great effort as they demonstrated their creative skills in colouring and drawing. It was a great opportunity as well for all Jakarta World Academy and Sinarmas World Academy students to meet and interact as they did various activities together. On the other hand, all Kindergarten2 Jakarta World Academy and Sinarmas World Academy students participated in a “Spelling Bee Competition”. The students competently exhibited their growing vocabulary and word knowledge as they confidently compete during the elimination round of the “Spelling Bee Competition”.
During the Spelling Bee finals, all the students from Jakarta World Academy and Sinarmas World Academy gathered in the piazza to witness the final round of the competition. Everyone cheered for the Kindergarten2 students as they compete for the winner of the Spelling Bee Contest. Afterwards, the JWA and SWA students went to the Wayang Outdoor Area to enjoy the Family Carnival. There were different areas for games and activities prepared for the students like “Egg Relay, Musical Chairs, Face Painting, Bowling, Ring Toss and Arts and Crafts activities”. It was then followed by the awarding the ceremony of the winners of the competitions that were held earlier that day.
It was a fun and memorable experience for all JWA and SWA students, fostering the spirit of camaraderie and developing a sense of community.
